"No, no, I don't know," she said in a rush, trying her best to keep her voice calm and her volume low. "I'm trying not to jump to conclusions. Right now I don't know if I should wait until the end of the day or if I should cut school now to go looking for her." Maria froze and stared at the girl she had only just met. She was out of practice at 'being careful' and 'keeping things secret'. "Crap. You wouldn't tell on me, would you?"
